LEICA-SINAR NEWS

Even though the Sinar p2 has long been discontinued, it can still be found in many professional studios.  Because of its modular design, Sinar now offers the possibility to update the camera to a model p3 or a model below the p3.

In order to utilize any of the Sinar digital backs, it is necessary to change the 4x5 rear standard of the Sinar p2 to the smaller 100 (100x100mm) rear standard of the Sinar p3.  This also includes an upgrade to the df (digital focus) for a more convenient workflow.

With these rear standards the fine focusing action has been improved by 30 percent which brings it in line with the demands of even the most modern digital backs.  In addition, this includes a new depth of field scale.

This changeover necessitates adjustments of the camera at the Sinar factory in Switzerland.

Until the end of 2015 Sinar offers considerable discounts on all the items necessary for this changeover.

    1. I don't understand why anyone would think that this post is out of line. Must be that I am not inflicted with Leica M tunnel vision.
